People Who Give Us Hope

In recent months, Doug Silverstein has created greater synergy among San Mateo County’s environmental community. By uniting multi-sector sustainability efforts of more than one hundred organizations, Doug has brought together diverse voices to stimulate ideas through discussions on shared issues, purposes and visions for the region.

Doug started off this endeavor by organizing hikes for local environmental leaders to help build relationships while exploring 10 San Mateo County Parks. Along with the non-profit group Thrive Alliance, Doug hosts a Green County San Mateo webpage. It features the various panels that Doug moderates on a wide range of topics to help further the cross-pollination of networks and ideas, and enhance the impact of county-wide environmental sustainability efforts.

We appreciate his support of the Burlingame Shoreline Park proposal (see our petition) which would provide a 9 acre bayfront nature park for the community. We look forward to Doug continuing his efforts to foster these important community networks and to working with him in the future.
