Good News for our Hillsides!

Good News for our Hillsides!

PasturesMar03_0Last week I sent an action alert asking you to urge the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors to protect our hillsides. Good news! On Monday, I got word that the property owner had withdrawn his application for an amendment to the General Plan. This means that if the landowner wants to submit a future application for a General Plan amendment on this same issue, he will have to start at the beginning of the process and first get permission from the Board of Supervisors to even submit an application.

Thanks to everyone who sent emails to the board and spoke up to protect our hillsides. Though it is just one property, this amendment could have undone decades of established county policy. We will continue to be vigilant in working to stop unnecessary sprawl development like this, and keep you involved in our efforts.

Thanks again for your support! Your voice does make a difference.

PS- We even got some press coverage on this issue in Scott Herhold’s Mercury News column over the weekend (at the end of column).
