With so much nature and parkland in and surrounding our cities, there is no question that our region is a special place. This holiday season we give thanks to you, the people who give local open space a voice as members of Committee for Green Foothills.
Carolyn Tognetti has been a member since 2004. For decades she has been a tireless advocate for protecting open space and farmland in Gilroy. As a member of Gilroy Growing Smarter, Carolyn was instrumental in the success of Measure H, Gilroy’s Urban Growth Boundary on this November’s ballot. Carolyn – We are so proud to have you as a member. Thank you for your work as an open space advocate.
Violet Saena is a new member and has just joined our Board of Directors. While she was going through our Community Advocates Leadership Academy last year, we needed some extra help organizing East Palo Alto’s Earth Day Celebration. Violet rolled up her sleeves and made this event happen. Violet – You brought music, dancing, and the people. Thank you for organizing our best Earth Day Celebration yet.
Norm Arslan has been a member since 1995 and a volunteer for the past 7 years. From tabling at festivals, to stuffing envelopes, to directing shuttle buses at our events–Norm has done it all, and always with a smile on his face. He finds values in local open space and wants to do whatever he can to support our work to prevent urban sprawl. Norm says he will be a member for life. Thank you Norm for your dedication and the time you have spent volunteering with us.
Carolyn, Violet, and Norm are just three of the many #PeopleWeLove who make our work possible as members of Committee for Green Foothills. I hope you will join them by supporting our work on #GivingTuesday.
