Welcome CALA class of 2017-2018!

Meet our newest cohort of change-makers, the Community Advocates Leadership Academy class of 2017-2018. CALA’s goal is to stimulate the local climate of civic activism in support of environmental sustainability, public health, and social justice.

This year’s program kicked off on September 9, 2017 at Cooley Landing in East Palo Alto, with Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian and his famous talk about “13 tips for influencing elected officials.”

To learn more about this year’s participants, check out their bios here. We can’t wait to witness the impact each of these 40 individuals will have on our program and greater community. Welcome CALA class of 2017-2018!

A big thank you to Google, the County of San Mateo’s Health System, Norma Jean Bodey, and every Committee for Green Foothills donor who make CALA possible. Your support enables us to offer scholarships so that people from all walks of life could participate in the program. Read words of gratitude from this year’s class (this sentence linked to thank you post, not live yet).
