Welcome Jocelyn to Our Team

If you attended our Nature’s Inspiration celebration last month, you might have caught sight of Jocelyn Rodriguez, our new Special Events Manager. Jocelyn joined Green Foothills full-time in July to work closely with the Green Foothills community to deepen the organization’s connection with donors, volunteers, and residents of the region.

She organizes gatherings that connect people to nature through the Healing in Nature series and is the champion of our newly launched Company Outings program. She also provides support for our Leadership Program sessions and alumni events. And if a last-minute rally or community forum needs to be organized on a key advocacy issue, she’ll be on it!

In addition to her solid event planning experience, Jocelyn brings an exciting range of other work experiences to bear. She was a fellow with Climate Corps working directly with Alameda County’s Office of Sustainability, helping update their Government Services and Operations Climate Action Plan (GOCAP). The work included drafting the Climate Leadership and Governance section of the GOCAP and overseeing the creation of an online feedback forum. Prior to this, she was a fellow with California Climate Action Corps, where she worked with the City of Long Beach’s Development Services Bureau to implement their newly adopted Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP). In that role, she created an outreach and engagement plan, researched funding opportunities, and helped develop the online CAAP dashboard. Jocelyn also worked with the City’s Office of Sustainability to help advance their Fruit Trees in Front Yards and Green Business Programs.

If that isn’t enough, Jocelyn has broad experience in the legal field and spent over 6 years teaching underserved students, domestically and internationally. She holds a B.A. in English Education and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Cal Poly Pomona. In her free time, Jocelyn enjoys exploring her home base of Oakland with her two long-haired chihuahuas.

We hope you have the opportunity to meet Jocelyn at one of our upcoming Healing in Nature events in November and December.

Thank you Jocelyn for joining our team and helping to make our Nature’s Inspiration 2022 a success! If you have any questions for Jocelyn or would like to extend your own personal welcome, feel free to email her at [email protected].
